Anthrax is a rod shaped bacteria know as "Bacillus anthracis".  Even know it is rare in the United States, People can still get sick from being in contact with infected people, animals, and food/drinks. It can be transmitted to humans, causing severe skin ulceration or a form of pneumonia.
