Next women of war is Adaline Weston Couzins she was born on August 12 1815 in Brighton, England. When Couzins was 8 she came to the U.S. She began nursing when cholera broke out which is a severe disease caused by bacteria. When civil war began she was a lead Surgeon and also transported wounded soldiers. She later on joined the Ladies Union Aid Society (LUAS) this group raised money for supplies for soldiers. LUAS also traveled on the battleships this means she cared for soldiers with really bad wounds. As she works on the boat she got struck with a minnie ball. But that didn’t let her down she kept working until war ended.
