WWII called the Red Cross’s extensive skill for the United States soldiers in the war. They enrolled over 104.000 nurses to aid the soldiers, prepared 27 million aid and food  packages, and sent 300,000 packages overseas. During this war they started their national civilian blood donation program that during this war collected 13.3 million pints of blood for injured soldiers on the Allies side. They also continued to aid victims of natural disasters, and wars.​
